Irene Brodsky (Published Poet, Author - Author of Poetry Unplugged (Outskirts Press)) wrote I recently had the privilege of reading "Broken Life - A Fight for Forever - Book 1" By Vangie Williams. Her book reads like a diary you may have had as a young girl, but this one is filled with beautiful, old-fashioned romance from a day gone by, when ladies wore long breathtaking gowns and never went out without a chaperone. Just like the days of Scarlett O'Hara. Then, Ms. Williams adds intrigue to these young ladies, telling of their slave ancestors, hidden secrets of a wooden box, mixed-marriages, crossing cultural lines, vivid dreams, a young lady’s travels leading to meeting the love of her life, to become her husband. Add to this an unrelenting curse rooted in the motherland...unknown to our heroine.... So fascinating, exciting, creative, and just wonderful!
I am proud to own this book. (http://ping.fm/rBe3z)
Martha Jett (writer and editor) wrote "Author Vangie Williams has developed her characters well and we quickly come to care for them as if they, indeed, were family. The plot is also well thought out and the story is written with great care when dealing with delicate subjects. Overall, this book is a ...great read, especially if you are interested in understanding life and how people thought during America’s early days. And as noted in the title, this book is called ‘Book 1,’ so it can be assumed that the story of this unrelenting curse is not yet over." For the full review visit http://ping.fm/Psjm0
